Pete Shaughnessy

This website has been put together by friends and colleagues of Pete Shaughnessy at SchNEWS after his death in December 2002. It was felt that what he did was so important and inspirational, that the least we could do was make some stuff written about and by Pete available on the internet.
Pete Shaughnessy is a 'legendary figure' for all those involved in the world of mental health, and anyone fighting for social justice elsewhere. He was a founder of Mad Pride - an activist group fighting for control and identity for those deemed 'mentally ill'. He lent passion and humour to repel the stigma of mental illness, and reclaim the word 'madness'.
We have put this website together a bit hurriedly, and hope to add to
